Nota d'usoIl verbo to vote, nel significato di votare per un candidato o partito, può essere seguito o meno dalla preposizione for. Quando si parla di un candidato in particolare, di solito non si usa alcuna preposizione: I'm going to vote Smith, voterò per Smith. Lo stesso accade se si usa il nome di un partito come aggettivo: He's always voted Labour, ha sempre votato laburista. Se invece si include il sostantivo party, o si utilizza un plurale è corretto dire to vote for: She voted for the Conservative party, ha votato per il partito conservatore; I voted for the Greens, ho votato per i Verdi. -
